At the time of his baptism, he lived with his parents Alexander and Mary in 13 Mitre Street, Lambeth, London.4 He was baptised on 8 October 1893 in St. John the Evangelist Church, Waterloo Road, Lambeth, London.4 He was listed in the census of 2 April 1911 as aged 20 born in London, a Private in the 2nd Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment at Wanowri Lines, Poona, India.5

Her father was listed as Ralph Metcalf (deceased), a Sailor. The marriage was witnessed by John BAILEY, and Nellie HARRISON, and Matilda POPPLEWELL.1,4,5
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 11 Luna Street, Chelsea, London, she was listed as aged 45 born in Hartlepool, the wife of George Stratford CANNING (a Taxi Cab Driver, living with his wife Jemima.)2
Jemima died in 1932 in the Chelsea registration district.3

Research Note: Originally it was thought that Jemima was Jemima BARNFATHER, born 1866, who married William SHARP, and had two daughters Amelia, and Ethel Mord SHARP. William died, and she remarried Lewis FRANCIS in 1907. He also died. She was listed in the 1911 census living in West Hartlepool with her youngest daughter Ethel. Subsequently this cannot be the Jemima that married George Stratford CANNING.6,7

Elizabeth married Joseph Basham PASK, son of Henry Frost PASK and Ann PERRY, on 10 February 1850 in St. Andrew's Church, Holborn, London. She was a Spinster of full age, residing in Kirby Street. Her father was listed as George Lazarus HOLDERNESS, a Law Writer. The marriage was witnessed by John PASK, and Caroline PASK (Groom's sister). The entry in the parish record shows the incorrect name, and occupation, of his father - possibly an error of the Curate.1,5
In the census of 30 March 1851 in 10 White Horse Alley, Finsbury, London, she was listed as aged 23 born in Cripplegate, the wife of Joseph PASK (a Chair Maker, living with his wife Elizabeth.)3
