In the census of 31 March 1901 in 93 High Street, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, he was listed as aged 6 born in Lincoln, the son of Lucy ULYAT.4,5
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 112 High Street, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, he was listed as a Chemist's Apprentice, aged 16 born in Lincoln, the son of Lucy ULYAT.6
Bertie married Kathleen Ada MASON in 1922 in the Rochford registration district.7
On 29 September 1939, in the 1939 National Register, Bertie and his wife Kathleen, were listed as living in 15 Meadway, Ilford, Essex. He was born on 13 April 1894, and his occupation was a Chemist & Druggist Manager. Their daughter Pamela was assumed to be living with them.8
