He was a Bachelor aged 20, a Labourer residing at 23 Hungate, Lincoln. His father was listed as George Bogg, a Bricklayer. The marriage was witnessed by George Bogg, and Alice Maud Bogg, the Groom's Aunt.7

His wife, Betsy, died in 1911 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.8,9

Benjamin served in World War I, he enlisted on 11 March 1915 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. He enlisted in the 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.6,11
Benjamin was killed in action on 1 July 1916, serving in World War I, at Ovillers-la-Boisselle, The Somme, France, at the age of 26. The Infantry of the 2nd battalion of the Lincolns, part of the 25th Brigade, left their trenches at 7.30 am and in the 20 minutes it took them to reach the German front line, Benjamin and many of his comrades lost their lives.2,11,12 Benjamin was buried in Grave 1X. M. 7, Ovillers Military Cemetery, Ovillers-la-Boisselle, The Somme, France.11
