     Ruby Melva HICKS was born on 2 January 1917 in Gawler, South Australia, Australia. She was the daughter of George Andrew HICKS (1879–1969), and Constance Mildred WRIGHT (1885–1965.)2,3
Ruby married Reverend Norman Heyward PASK B.A., son of Arthur James PASK and Elsie May WATKINS, on 26 March 1943 in Elsternwick Methodist Church, Elsternwick, Victoria, Australia. Their engagement was announced in The Argus on 19 September 1942, it read:
HICKS- PASK -Ruby Melva, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs G A Hicks, Jupiter street, Caulfield, to Rev Norman Heyward Pask, Currie, King Island, elder son of Mr and Mrs A Pask, Launceston, Tasmania.
Their wedding was reported in the Advocate on 19 May 1943, it read:
At the Elsternwick (Vic) Methodist Church, on March 26, Ruby Melva, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Hicks. 51 Jupiter st., Caulfield (Vic.), was married to Rev. Norman Heyward Pask, B.A., son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Pask, of 7 Como Crescent, Launceston. Rev. R. E. Hooper, chaplain to the president of the Victorian-Tasmanian Conference, officiated. Mr. S. Hooper was organist, and Mr. Stanton Greenwood sang "A Parting Prayer" and "Where'er You Walk."  
The bride, who was given away by her father, chose a simply designed gown of ivory slipper satin, with softly folded bodice and long fitting sleeves. Thc skirt drifted into a train, and a spray of azaleas and stephanotis held thc billowy veil of cream cut-edge tulle in place. Mrs. Nola Lewis was in attendance as matron of honor, and Beris Greenwood, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Rev. R. Chadwick was best man. A reception was held at St. George's Courts, Elsternwick.
When leaving for the honeymoon at Mornington (Vic.), the bride wore an ensemble of dusty pink Angora woollen. Rev. N. H. and Mrs. Pask have taken up residence at thc Methodist Parsonage, Penguin.2,4,5

On 17 January 1945, at the time of the birth of their daughter, Melva and Norman lived in Penguin, Tasmania, Australia.6
In July 1947, at the time of the birth of their son Colin Norman, Ruby and Norman were living at the Methodist Parsonage, Latrobe, Tasmania, Australia.7
Her husband, Norman, died on 5 March 1979 in Blac, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 68.2,8
Ruby died on 23 January 2005 in Ringwood, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 88.9,3 Ruby was buried in Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Princes Highway, Springvale, Victoria, Australia.10
