In the census of 5 April 1891 in Boothby Graffoe, Lincolnshire, she was listed as aged 12 born in Wellingore, the daughter of Charles SCOTT.7
Martha married John William WILSON in 1904 in the Lincoln registration district.8
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 19 Carlton Street, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, she was listed as aged 32 born in Wellingore, married 7 years with 3 children all living, the wife of John William WILSON (a Labourer in Foundry, living with his wife Martha, and their children Evelyn May, John Eric, and Charles Walter.)3
On 29 September 1939, in the 1939 National Register, Martha and her husband John, were listed as living at The Trailer Caravan Park, Caistor, Lincolnshire. She was born on 18 October 1879 (this does not concur with other dates), and her occupation was Unpaid Domestic Duties. Also listed was Mary Ann WILSON, a widow born 15 July 1864 - believed to be his mother.4

In the census of 5 April 1891 in 15 Denton Street, Hulme, Lancashire, he was listed as a Railway Carter, aged 19 born in Wellingore, a Boarder of William DOVE. He was, in fact, Samuel's future brother-in-law.3
John married Eliza SCOTT, daughter of Charles SCOTT and Eliza SPEED, on 11 May 1895 in St. Thomas' Church, Ardwick, Lancashire. He was a Bachelor aged 23, a Labourer residing at 41 Chapel Street. His father was listed as William Covel, a Blacksmith. The marriage was witnessed by the brother of the bride, Frank Scott, and the sister of the bride, Elizabeth Scott.1,4,5
