In the census of 2 April 1871 in High Street, Ropsley, Lincolnshire, William was listed as aged 25 born in Ropsley, the Head of Household; an Agricultural Labourer, living with his wife Rebecca and their children George, and Ann. Also listed was William GIBBONS, a Lodger.1
In the census of 3 April 1881 in Boothby Pagnell, Lincolnshire, William was listed as aged 36 born in Braceby, the Head of Household; an Agricultural Labourer, living with his wife Rebecca and their children Ann, Fanny, William, Harriet, and Rachel.4
In the census of 5 April 1891 in Ponton Road, Boothby Pagnell, Lincolnshire, William was listed as aged 45 born in Braceby, the Head of Household; an Agricultural Labourer, living with his wife Rebecca and their children George Henry, Rachel, and Samuel.5
In the census of 31 March 1901 in 20 Portland Place, Spittlegate, Grantham, Lincolnshire, William was listed as aged 55 born in Braceby, the Head of Household; a General Labourer, living with his wife Rebecca and their daughter Rachel. Also listed was three visitors including Samuel CLAPTON, his future son-in-law.2
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 20 Portland Place, Spittlegate, Grantham, Lincolnshire, William was listed as aged 66 born in Braceby, the Head of Household; a General Labourer, living with his wife Rebecca.6
William died in 1915 in the Grantham registration district.7
His wife's, Rebecca, death was registered in 1926 in the Grantham registration district.8

Research Note: Civil registration of their children, in the majority of events, used the name of HAMMONDS. However, the Ropsley parish records baptisms and burials, used the name of HAMMOND. Similiarily, the censuses used the name of HAMMOND & HAMMONDS.

On 29 September 1939, in the 1939 National Register, John was living with his wife and her parents at 57 Grantley Street, Grantham, Lincolnshire. He was born on 01 Jan 1906, and was a Contractor Labourer Heavy Worker.2

     Derrick Wilfred CLAPTON was born on 5 March 1925, in the Grantham registration district.1,2 He was the son of Samuel CLAPTON and Rachel HAMMOND.1
On 29 September 1939, in the 1939 Register, Derrick was assumed to be living with his parents at 57 Grantley Street, Grantham, Lincolnshire. His entry in the Register is redacted, due to age; Also listed was their daughter Gladys May, and son-in-law John, also there was a redacted entry, assumed to be their son Derrick.3
Derrick died on 13 February 2010 in Grantham, Lincolnshire, at the age of 84.2
