In the census of 5 April 1891 in 43 Blythe Road, West Ham, London, Joseph was listed as aged 29 born in Camberwell, the Head of Household; a Dock Foreman, living with his wife Adelaide, and son Herbert. Also listed was Lodgers George SHEPPERD, and his wife Harriet SHEPPERD.3
In the census of 31 March 1901 in 23 Victoria House, Blendon Row, Newington, London, Joseph was listed as aged 39 born in Camberwell, the Head of Household; a Ships Fireman, living with his wife Adelaide, and son Herbert.2
In the census of 2 April 1911 in Back of 402 Victoria Street, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, Joseph was listed as aged 49 born in Camberwell Surrey, the Head of Household; a Trawler Engineer, living with his wife Adelaide. There son Herbert was listed, and then crossed out.7
His wife, Adelaide, died in 1923 in the Grimsby registration district.8
Joseph died in 1931 in the Grimsby registration district.9
