Rose K. Guy née Huntley (1913-2008)

     Rose K. HUNTLEY's birth was registered in 1913 in the Edmonton registration district.1 She was the daughter of Albert Ernest HUNTLEY and Kathleen Ada PASK.1
Rose married Michael Thomas Charles R. GUY in 1937 in the Blandford registration district.2 A wedding photograph of Rose and Charles was taken.3
Charles and Rose lived all their married life in a cottage in Verwood, Dorset.3
Rose was a talented seamstress working from home on wedding dresses and the like, a skill she learnt as a girl in London. She was renowned for her hard work and energy, it was a struggle at times but she was contented.3

Her husband Charles died in 1976 in the Poole registration district.4
After her husband's death, she lived on in the cottage, quite active and independent but with failing eyesight. When she was nearly 90 years old, a severe stroke saw her hospitalised, and then cared for in a local nursing home until her death at the age of ninety-five. As well as her two sons she left two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.3
Rose was in a photograph, taken in her later years.3
