Mary died on 7 November 1853 in Needham Market, Suffolk, at the age of 43.1,7,8

Her husband, George, died in 16 August 1877 in the Marylebone registration district.6,7 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 48 Queens Road 3 Cross Lances, Isleworth, Middlesex, she was listed as a Widow aged 59 born in Seer Green Buckinghamshire, the mother-in-law of John BAILEY.3

Thomas married Alice LUPTON in 1839.4,5 In the census of 7 June 1841 he was at the same address as his mother, Elizabeth SHIELDS, but enumerated as a different household.6 In the census of 7 June 1841 in Lenton, Lincolnshire, Thomas was listed as aged 30, the Head of Household an Agricultural Labourer, assumed to be living with his wife Alice and infant daughter Elizabeth.6 In the census of 30 March 1851 in Pickworth, Lincolnshire, Thomas was listed as aged 39 born in Lenton, the Head of Household a Farmer of 68 Acres employing 1 Labourer, living with his wife Alice, and five children Elizabeth Margaret, William, Fanny, Emma, and Mary Jane. Also living with them was two servants, William BESKABY and Ann DIGBY.3 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Pickworth, Lincolnshire, Thomas was listed as aged 49 born in Lenton, the Head of Household a Farmer of 60 acres, living with his wife Alice, and children William, Fanny, Emma, Mary Jane, Alice, Thomas, and John Henry.7

     John SHIELDS was baptised on 1 June 1794 in Lenton, Lincolnshire.2,1 He was the son of Mark SHIELDS and Elizabeth ARMSTON.1 John married, and was widowed, before 1851.1
In the census of 30 March 1851 in Lenton, Lincolnshire, John was listed as the Head of Household; a widower, living with his family. Also living with them was his mother, and his brother.1
In the census of 7 April 1861 in Lenton, Lincolnshire, John was listed as the Head of Household; an Agricultural labourer, widower, living with his daughter, brother, and grand-daughter.3
John died in 1873 in Grantham, Lincolnshire.4
