In 1946 Sidney founded Grantham Electrical Engineering Company, initially to carry out electric motor rewinds and repairs, and electrical contracting work in the vicinity of Grantham. The business expanded steadily over the following years and in 1958 the Company, having identified a growing market for rotary electric vibrators, produced its first industrial model.
Today, the organisation is known as Grantham Engineering, and manufactures the Invicta range of vibrators. It is an independent company, and remains the UK's largest manufacturer of industrial vibrators and one of the largest worldwide. These machines are found in industries as diverse as food, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, through to mining, quarrying and port installations.

Colin Pask took over from his father as Managing Director in 1983 and now combines this position with his previous post of Sales Director. During Colin's time in this position he has overseen a continuing expansion of the company, its product range and market penetration.

Colin's son Sam entered the company three years ago and he is now the third generation of the family to work for the company.³
