They emigrated with their children Mildred Rosaline aged 13, and Alfred Gilbert, aged 11.3
Alfred married Thelma Madge STAMMERS on 13 April 1938 in The Methodist Church, Cooee, Tasmania, Australia. Their marriage was reported in The Advocate, Burnie, Tazmania on April 26 1938, it read:
WEDDING BELLS Paske-Stammers
The Methodist Church at Cooee was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding on Wednesday afternoon, April 13, when Madge, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Stammers, of Cooee, was married to Alfred, only son of Mr, and Mrs. A. Paske, of Cooee. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Harold Chambers. The church had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride, with autumn-tinted dahlias and Easter daisies. The "Wedding March" was played by Mrs. E. Plapp.
The bride was given away by her father. She wore a frock of blue wool de chine of tunic style, trimmed with navy braid; a navy halo hat with a full circular veil, and shoes and gloves to match. She carried a shower bouquet of lemon tinted cactus dahlias, and asparagus fern, tied with lemon ribbons.
The bride's niece, Miss Noreen Sutton, was bridesmaid. Her rust costume with navy accessories looked very smart, and she carried a bouquet of cactus dahlias in autumn shades, with asparagus fern.
Mr. Reg. Stammers attended the bridegroom as best man.
As the bride left the church, a pretty horseshoe was placed on her arm by her little niece, Dawn Elliott. The satin cushion on which the bride knelt was loaned by Mrs. K. Plapp.
The beautiful bouquets and posies were made and presented by the bride's aunt, Mrs. W. Halfacre, South Burnie.
The wedding reception was held at the Mia Mia Cafe, Burnie, where the bride's parents received 30 guests. A feature of the table was a three-tier cake, made by Mrs. E. Viney, Cooee.
The bride's mother wore a navy frock of wind-swept marocain, relieved with white, and a navy hat. She carried a posy of red pompone dahlias and salvia tied with red satin ribbons.
Mrs. Paske, mother of the bridegroom, wore a floral marocain frock in blue and white tonings and navy wool de chine coat, with a rust hat. She carried a posy of autumn pompone dahlias, tied with satin ribbons.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Paske will be at Cooee.4,5
