Last Edited=17 Dec 2016
Mary Pask née Light (1842-1912)
wife of Morgan Pask
Mary was in an undated photograph. Pat was told that the photograph was "Hollister's grandmother" which of course gives me the choice of 2.Pat has come to the conclusion that she is Mary Light on the grounds that I have no records or photographs at all of the older Maybreys whereas the photo of the Pask daughters, Charlotte & Ellen, shows that they were familiar with studio photographers like this one. So I think that the lady is likely to be their mother..2
Mary LIGHT was born in 1842 in Shirenewton, Monmouthshire. She was the daughter of Samuel Light.3,4,5
Mary married Morgan PASK, son of Isaac PASKE and Mary MORGAN, on 22 October 1864 in Newchurch Parish Church, Newchurch, Monmouthshire. She was a Spinster aged 23, residing at Park Wall. Her father was listed as Samuel Light, a Laborer. The marriage was witnessed by William Cwin? and Janey? Jones.6,1,5
In the census of 3 April 1881 in Mynyddbach, Shirenewton, Monmouthshire, she was listed as aged 39 born in Shirenewton, the wife of Morgan PASK (a General Labourer living with his wife Mary, and children Charlotte, Laura, Ellen, Emily, and "Fredrick.")3
In the census of 31 March 1901 in Mynyddbach, Shirenewton, Monmouthshire, she was listed as a Dress Maker, the wife of Morgan PASK; a General Labourer living with his wife Mary, and their son Frederick.4
Her husband, Morgan, died on 20 April 1909 in Mynyddbach, Shirenewton, Monmouthshire, at the age of 73.7,8,9
Mary died in 1912 in the Pontypridd registration district.10
Mary and Morgan lived at Mount Pleasant, Llangeview, Monmouthshire; This is now known as Cwmbir Farm, and the family home of Ian Bunning. He writes "...this was my family home now known as Cwmbir Farm. The Welsh meaning for Mount Pleasent is Top of the Windy Gap which I might add is very fitting.      Isaac PASKE was born circa 1790.3 He was the son of William PASKE and Anne THOMAS.4
Isaac married Mary MORGAN on 16 November 1818 in Mathern, Monmouthshire. The marriage was witnessed by Thomas STEPHENS & Mary LEWIS [his sister].5,2,6
His wife's, Mary, death was registered in 1870 in the Chepstow registration district.7
His wife, Mary, was buried on 20 February 1870 in the Church of the Holy Cross, Kilgwrrwg, Monmouthshire.8

Research Note: It is believed that Cecelia Ann PASK's grandfather was Isaac PASK, a Master Bricklayer / Mason.9

Research Note: It is probable that Isaac died or disappeared between February 1841 and October 1841. His wife Mary was listed in the 1841-1861 census, without her husband. Their youngest son Henry was born in October 1841. There is no death listed in the GRO Index. This needs to be researched further.

Research Note: Paula Payne has established that Susan was the daughter of Isaac & Elizabeth Pask née Stephens.10,11,12
