John Everard HYDES1

Last Edited=20 May 2008
John Everard HYDES was born in 1879. He was the son of George & Elizabeth HIDES.2,3

Paul writes: "By 1917 John Everard Hydes is evidently serving in the Labour Corps, having previously been in the Lincolnshires and/or the Sherwood Foresters. The Labour Corps tended to contain the older men and also soldiers who were no longer fit for front line duties. So my guess is that John Everard Hydes has suffered some sort of debilitation that has led to his transfer to the Labour Corps. Whether he was still in the Labour Corps at the time of his death is unclear. One might assume he wasn't - since there seems to be no official Army listing of his death in relation to the Great War.4" At the time of his marriage in 1917, John lived at 3 Peckham Terrace ?, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.3 John married Emily PASK, daughter of Isaac PASK and Elizabeth HARRISON, on 20 November 1917 in the Register Office, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Witnessed by George J. PASK and Nellie PRICE.1,5,3
John died on 6 August 1918 in Nottingham General Hospital, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.6
