Dorothy Meyers, 85, passed away peacefully at the Tri City Chaplaincy Hospice House June 7, 2010. Born to George and Lillian Ludwick in Ekalaka, MT, Dorothy was raised in Ekalaka, MT. After completing school there, she married her childhood sweetheart, Delbert "Del" Meyers, September 26, 1942. Del enlisted in the Army soon afterward, and Dorothy followed him in his service career as much as possible. Soon after Del's discharge from the Army, Del and Dorothy moved their family to Richland, WA where Dorothy ran a day care for 40 years. She cared for hundreds of children through the years, each one cherished by her. She took great pride that many of her grown day care children later brought their own children to her for care.
Dorothy was an active member of Northwest United Protestant Church, serving in many capacities, particularly those that involved the children of the church. Her greatest joy, however, was her children and grandchildren.
Dorothy has spent the last two years in the loving care of the staff of Guardian Angel Homes in Richland to whom the family is very grateful.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 58 years, Delbert. She is survived by her children Kenneth Linda Soracson Meyers, Rich Loraine Howard Meyers, Janet John Hansens and Kathy Bill Hardy. She leaves behind grandchildren Shawn Manning, Tracy Meyers, Christopher Meyers, Shad Hiedi Dudley, Ryan Sofia Dudley, Lindsay Jessica Hardy and Joel Hardy, great grandchildren Anita, Kelsey, Sydney, Del, Amy, Shade, Kieran, Priscilla, Paola, and JohnPaul, Jessie and 3 great, great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Georgie Flood, Del's sister Julia Fritz Dullum and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Northwest United Church Saturday June 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM, 1312 Sacramento Blvd, Richland, WA. Memorials may be made to Northwest United Protestant Church or the Tri Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House.9,1

Georgie Carolyn Flood died Wednesday, July 21, in Gresham. She was 83.
Georgie was born May 24, 1927, in Ekalaka, Mont., to George and Lillian (Chamberlain) Ludwick. She started high school at Ekalaka High School before moving to Portland, where she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1945.
On Dec. 15, 1945, she married Kenneth Dale Flood in Vancouver, Wash. They made their home in Portland.
Georgie was a homemaker. After raising her two children, she worked part time as a real estate agent for various companies in the Gresham area. She retired after five years.
Georgie lived in East County for 15 years and in Damascus with her daughter for 25 years. She was an active member of Peace Community Church of the Brethren in Portland and of the Gresham Elks Lodge. Her many hobbies included playing the clarinet and piano, gardening and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband and her sister, Dorothy, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Georgie Hart of Damascus; son, Daniel Flood of Portland; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.1,8 She was buried in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA.1

Born to Harry and Martha Meyers in Ekalaka, MT July 26, 1922, Del was raised in Ekalaka, MT. After completing school there, he married his childhood sweetheart, Dorothy, September 26, 1942, and immediately enlisted in the Army.
Del served as a band and orchestra musician in the 91st Division. Soon after discharge from the Army, Del and Dorothy moved their family to Richland where Del worked for various Hanford contractors for over 50 years. At the time of his recent illness, he worked for Exitech as a Radiation Protection Instructor at the Hammer Training Center.
Del was an active member of Northwest United Protestant Church serving in many capacities, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a lifetime member of IBEW Local 984. His greatest joy was his family, and especially supporting children and grandchildren?s sporting activities. He also loved learning and enrolled in classes related to welding, upholstery, and autos. Fishing was a favorite pastime.
Del is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lorena Long; and brothers, Marvin and Vernon Meyers. He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy; his children and their spouses, Ken Micki Meyers, R. G. Rose Meyers, Janet Dudley and Kathy Bill Hardy; grandchildren and spouses, Shawn Manning, Tracy Diane Meyers, Shad Hiedi Dudley, Ryan Dudley, Christopher
Meyers, Lindsay Hardy and Joel Hardy; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Del also leaves behind his sister, Julia Dullum.
